In the historiography of the (arch)diocese of Vilnius up to this day there are no publications on the apostolic succession of the bishops presiding over the local church throughout over six hundred years of her history. This is due to the fact that generally there does not seem to be too much interest in the succession of the Episcopal ordination of the Catholic bishops. This paper is an attempt at filling this void by discussing the apostolic succession of the bishops of the Vilnius church in the 19th and the 20th century.Instytut Archeologii i Etnologii PAN165-21
