The article aims to present the relationship between ethno-cultural differentiation and social capital. It analyses both theoretical accounts and empirical studies conducted in different social settings. The author emphasizes advantages and disadvantages of bonding social capital, i.e. social connections, networks and groups of people similar to each other in terms of socio-cultural characteristics.
