Zur Behandlung von Frakturen und Fehlstellungen werden externe Fixateursysteme eingesetzt. Parallelkinematische Ringfixateure ermöglichen universelle dreidimensionale Bewegungen, werden klinisch aber manuell bedient. Vorgestellt wird ein automatisches externes Fixateursystem, das ein am Knochen befestigtes mobiles Robotersystem darstellt. Bewegungen werden durch Elektromotoren erzeugt, während Sensoren die wirkenden Kräfte messen.
