Barbara De Poli teaches History of Islamic Countries at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in the Arab countries, especially Morocco, for several years. Her main research interests concern the relationship between institutions, Islam and society. She has also specialized in Egyptian Freemasonry.
