Transforming texts: learning to become a (creative) writer through reading

This paper investigates the complex of issues surrounding the reading-writing dynamic in relation to Creative Writing. Drawing on recent criticism of the nature of the link as well as on the results of a small, qualitative study, it points to the need to situate reading more broadly within Creative Writing curricula. It also suggests that Creative Writing itself may need to be redefined at a time when modes of writing as well as modes of reading have begun to change
