What factors impact the profitability of Islamic and conventional banks? A comparative study.

This study used econometric methods to attempt to discover relationships between internal and external factors of bank profitability in both Islamic and conventional banking systems from the Middle East North Africa region. Using descriptive statistics it was discovered that Islamic banks enjoy a higher rate of profitability. Using linear regression models it was discovered that profitability for conventional banks can be improved with accurate forecasting of future inflation rates. All other hypotheses were not answered due to a lack of significant findings
