The objective of this paper is to argue that for enabling emergence of good quality management institutes in India, the role of government and various government/statutory bodies should be drastically reduced to the level of bare minimum. It is argued that the principles of market, non-government and/or self regulation will be more effective mechanism to ensure supply of good quality managerial talent required by both, for profit organizations and not for profit organizations in India
