A coal particle model is developed with an aim to identify the suitable kinetic reaction properties which lead to a better prediction of char combustion. Eddy Break Up with kinetic control model is used as a simulation technique and applied to bituminous coal as representation in the simulation model. Seven reactions for the coal combustion are considered and some of the coal particle combustion experimental results are taken from literature in order to validate the simulation model. The results show how the behavior of char reaction is influenced with varying kinetic properties.
