The Handbook offers both new and experienced lecturers and tutors on PGCE, BA (QTS), SCITT and GTP programmes a broad range of topics that make up an effective teacher education programme in primary English. The book emerged from the English Subject Resource network, funded by the TDA and created by a consortium from UKLA, NATE (National Association of Teachers of English) and Canterbury Christ Church University. Each chapter gives an overview of what the contributor feels are the key aspects that teaching students need to know, together with a range of suggested activities for engaging students in discussion and debate
