The co-authored chapter focuses upon the balness of Lucius as a priest of Osiris and his earlier attempts to maintain and restore his dignity as both man and ass. The approach is both philosophical in its interpretation but keeps a sense of fun and satire about the hero's various physical and moral metamorphoses
