AbstractThe attractive properties of Al-Ni intermetallic phases and their extensive field of technological applications demands a thorough understanding of the system. In particular, kinetic experiences with Al/Ni diffusion-reaction couples using Transient Liquid Phase Bonding (TLPB) process deals with the simultaneous growing of intermetallic phases as multilayers in the interconnection zone. This work complements the first stages of morphology, chemical composition and microhardness characterization of these layers with conventional X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) experiments.
