ObjectivesDurability remains the main problem of all bioprosthetic valves, and calcification is the major cause of failure. New tissue treatment processes are expected to reduce mineralization. A comparative animal study was undertaken to evaluate the behavior of a new-generation porcine bioprosthesis in contrast with a first-generation porcine bioprosthesis.
