AbstractThis paper presents planar microstructured coils in a novel multilayer assembly. They are designed to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in mobile nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments for the non-destructive analysis of thin films at the surface of arbitrary sized samples. The coils show an improvement in sensitivity by a factor of more than 30 compared to common NMR sensors for similar applications
