AbstractIn a previous paper (J. Number Theory51, 1995, 169–209), the first author gave a certain recursion formula for local densities. In this paper we give another type of recursion formula. As an application we determine an explicit form of the denominator of a formal power series defined in (Proc. Japan Acad.70, 1994, 208–211)
