AbstractThis paper deals with the effectiveness of teaching methods using interactive and project-based teaching. The aim consists in encouraging both linguistic and professional competence through language teaching. A survey covers the effectiveness of the teaching methods and the response of students to the innovation of the German language course in forestry, timber, arboriculture and landscape engineering. In general, students took a positive attitude to the interactive tutorials; on the contrary, they took completely negative attitude to the project-based teaching.
