AbstractThis paper is interested in the study of wind energy conversion systems (WECS) based on a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) and a direct AC/AC cycloconverter. The dynamic behavior of the WECS, including the models of the wind turbine, the doubly fed induction generator, the cycloconverter, and the power control of this system, is studied. The power control of this system is applied to achieve the control of active and reactive powers exchanged between the stator of the DFIG and the grid, to ensure a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the WECS.
