AbstractNatural convection flow of air in a two-dimensional, rectangular enclosure with two discrete heating from below is studied numerically, using the stream function-vorticity formulation of the Navier-Stokes and energy equations. An implicit finite difference together with successive over relaxation (SOR) method is applied to solve the non-dimensional governing equations. Discrete heating is simulated by two heat sources on the bottom of the rectangular cavity and the different values of dimension less heat source height (H), is considered for this study.
