AbstractThe ALARP (A railway automatic track warning system based on distributed personal mobile terminals) project has the aim to study, design and implement an innovative more efficient Automated Track Warning Systems with the intent of overcome the limits of current state-of-the-art solutions. The ALARP system provides a solution which is low cost, non-invasive, easy to install and totally independent from the existing signaling. It is responsible of advising workers of a train approaching and has the functionality of localizing the workers inside the worksite and of guiding them to a safe area
