AbstractThis work studies the feasibility of improving the thermal comfort in an electric UXV car cabin through a cooling device. The main components of the device consist of a membrane solar panel, four axial fans, and a rechargeable battery pack. The fans are solely powered by solar energy. The specifications of these components have been carefully examined and matched. The temperature and velocity fields in the cabin were simultaneously solved for through CFD means taking into consideration of the solar irradiation flux. Current results show that the accumulation of solar irradiation energy in the cabin can be effectively removed by the cooling device introduced
