Quality of life of children with chronic illnesses: A Review of the Literature

AbstractThe objective of the present study is to review the literature pertaining to the quality of life (QoL) of children with a chronic illness. The instruments that have been developed to measure QoL are categorized into two groups: those which are referred to parents and those which are referred to children. Also there are “disease specific” instruments and disease “general” instruments. The instruments that measure QoL of children with chronic illnesses are now used for the evaluation of new therapies and to measure the influence that a certain disease has on the every-day activities of a patient
