AbstractA series of p-coumaric acid derivatives (1–36) was synthesized and characterized by physicochemical as well as spectral means. The synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro for their antimicrobial activity against different Gram positive and Gram negative bacterial and fungal strains by the tube dilution method. Results of antimicrobial screening indicated that compound 17 was the most active antimicrobial agent (pMICam=1.73μM/mL).
