ObjectiveSurgical ablation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation is now being performed routinely in centers throughout the world. After the hospital stay, patients' care is usually delivered by cardiologists who are often unfamiliar with the nuances of the procedure, as well as the management of patients' medical regimens and atrial arrhythmia recurrence.
