AbstractThe traction converter and control system of EMU is constructed based on Matlab/Simulink. The system consists of a transformer, a rectifier, an inverter and an induction motor. The rectifier is controlled by the transient current control theory with SPWM technology. In the inverter the indirect rotor flux oriented control theory with current hysteretic band PWM strategy is adopted. Based on the system the traction control and constant speed control are tested. The simulation results present that the system is with good dynamic and steady state performance and fulfill the running demand of EMU
