AbstractThis paper presents an attempt to analyze minority or regional languages in European countries and the Tatar language as one of the regional languages in the Russian Federation. The author considers minority languages as the object for further development and preservation under the pressure of total globalization. The aim of this paper is to determine the range and relevance of the application of regional languages in economic sphere and to identify development prospects. Generalizing the experience of some European countries, the author presents the Model of development of Tatar language in economic sphere as part of the Program of revitalization of regional language
