AbstractObjectiveNeuroplasticity can be defined as the ability of the brain to adapt to environmental impacts. These adaptations include synapse formation and elimination, cortical reorganization, and neurogenesis. In epilepsy these mechanisms may become detrimental and contribute to disease progression.
