Synthesis, structure analysis and antibacterial activity of N-[5-dehydroabietyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl]-aromatic amide derivatives

AbstractA series of N-[5-dehydroabietyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl]-aromatic amide derivatives were synthesized from dehydroabietic acid. Their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, MS, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Four six-membered rings of 2b exhibited plane, half-chair and chair configurations, respectively. The antibacterial activity of these newly synthesized N-[5-dehydroabietyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl]-aromatic amides derivatives against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria was also investigated using the minimum inhibition concentration method.
