AbstractRecent development in the field of organometallic and coordination polymers based on transition metals, particularly the methods and degree of polymerization, the nature of bonding present, and the type of metal moiety, has become an area of ever-growing interest. Metal-containing polymers have catalytic, magnetic, optical, electrical, and electrochemical properties which allow for a variety of applications. This review will mainly shed light on the past five years of research in organometallic and coordination polymers containing transition metals, focusing on the synthetic methodologies, structural properties, and applications
