AbstractThis study has two basic purposes. The first purpose is to determine the relationship between parental attitude and social comparison of the eight grade students. The second purpose is to determine at which level parental attitudes and demographic variables predict the level of social comparison. The population of the research consists of the eight grade students in Sivas (n=377). Parental Attitude Scale developed by Küçükturan (2005) and Social Comparison Scale developed by Gilbert, Allan and Trent (1992) which was adapted to the Turkish Culture by Şahin, Durak and Şahin (1993) were used in the study.
