ABSTRACTThis article features the history of the technological capacity of Cia Iguacu de Café Solúvel in the period between 1967 and 2009. To achieve the goal of this work, the paper proposes a theoretical discussion about the theories of technological capability. After consideration of various theories, we considered the use of Model Capabilities Technology Companies in Emerging Economies built by Figueiredo (2004) as the most suitable. To perform the operation of the article, a model was built to analyze and characterize the stages and technological functions of the company.
