AbstractIntroductionOne lung ventilation (OLV) has become a standard procedure for many interventions in thoracic surgery with a need for deflation of the lung to facilitate the surgical procedure. Mechanical ventilation can induce a proinflammatory reaction in the non-deflated ventilated lung.
