AbstractThe purpose of the present study is to compare economic efficiency of nuclear power plants and plants on fossil fuel for short-term and long-term (until 2050) perspective and further forecasts specification of nuclear power generation development in Russia and in the world on the background of world energy as a whole.Technical and economic indicators of power plants of different types are systematized taking into account their uncertainty margins. Competitiveness of power plants of different types was estimated according to cost of electricity produced.
