AbstractA mathematical model is developed to analyze the steady viscous aerodynamics of a cascade of thin airfoils in an incompressible laminar flow. Solutions for the flow field, described by the nonlinear Navier-Stokes equations, are obtained by developing a locally analytical method. In this technique, the discrete algebraic equations which represent the flow field equations are obtained from analytical solutions in individual grid elements, accomplished by locally linearizing the convective terms. Analytical solutions are then developed by applying these solutions to individual grid elements.
