AbstractThe turn of the 21st Century saw the eight international development goals pertaining to human development, environment sustainability and development of global partnerships being established. This was an outcome of the Millennium Summit of the United Nations with all 189 member States of the UN and 23 international organizations agreeing to achieve these goals by 2015. The present paper is an attempt to bring to light, as an outcome of review of related literature, some of the emerging issues that touch upon the continent of Asia and Africa.
