AbstractThe research procedures consist of two phases as: the first phase is the study on the factors related to the critical thinking abilities of high school students by using the meta-analysis, the second phase is the development and the verification of the causal model of factors that affect the critical thinking of students in the academies of basic education with the empirical data. The researcher uses the findings of the first phase research as the variables for the second phase study. The research findings provided some factors that affect the critical thinking abilities of students in the academies of basic education
