AbstractPrecise temporal and spatial regulation of gene expression during Drosophila oogenesis is essential for patterning the anterior–posterior and dorsal–ventral body axes. Establishment of the anterior–posterior axis requires posterior localization and translational control of both oskar and nanos mRNAs.
