AbstractThe aims of treating patients with popliteal aneurysm (PA) are to prevent limb-threatening ischemia from aneurysm thrombosis, distal embolization, and rupture, while concurrently restoring adequate blood flow to the lower extremity. This involves often an interposition graft or a bypass. We report four cases of PAs treated with resection of the aneurysm sac and direct end-to-end anastomosis. This technique, which does not require any graft interposition, presents many advantages, and, therefore, should be considered by vascular surgeons
