AbstractIntroductionExtensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) is defined as tuberculosis (TB) caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) strains that are multidrug resistant (MDR) and also resistant to a fluoroquinolone and to one injectable aminoglycoside or capreomycin.
