Education and Interculturality: Pupils of Maghrebi Origin in Spain

AbstractThe considerable influx of immigrants is modifying our parameters of coexistence. The contributions made by different cultures from outside our frontiers are taking on an increasingly prominent role in our society. We think that it is necessary to preserve the cultural identities of all peoples, since their cultural identity is what defines them and distinguishes them from other peoples, although at the same time, the desideratum of socio-educational integration has to take place in an intercultural context. For this reason, we consider that the joint action of educational agents is fundamental. Attention to diversity is one of the great challenges that any educational system has to face, a goal that takes on more importance when we refer to a country where different cultures live together. This is the case in Spain
