AbstractThis article describes the practical approach to endoscopic treatment of peptic ulcer bleeding and Dieulafoy's lesions including theoretical considerations of importance for the outcome. Endoscopic therapy is indicated in ulcers with active bleeding, a nonbleeding visible vessel, or an adherent clot. For high-risk ulcers (Forrest I–IIa), the authors of this article recommend initial treatment with injection of diluted adrenaline followed by a second hemostatic therapy (heater probe or clips).
