AbstractA recent study has identified the variation in the ADAM33 gene as an important risk factor for asthma. This is not only good news for asthma sufferers, suggesting new directions for diagnostics and treatment, but also provides encouragement that unravelling the genetics of common diseases may not be quite as hard as had been feared
