AbstractVisceral leishmaniasis is a chronicand lethal parasite disease against which no human vaccine is available.Hepato- splenomegaly and a progressive suppression of the cellular immune response are among its most important clinical signs. The characteristic cellular immunosupression was described as being mediated in part, through the spatial segregation of dendritic cells (DCs) and T cell lymphocytes due to altered frequencies and migration capabilities of DCs.
