AbstractThe study reported on, in this paper sought to investigate on the issue of corporal and verbal punishment as means of disciplining pupils’ behavior in basic schools in Sudan. The practice of corporal punishment in schools is an indication of the absence of meaningful access to quality education that all nations worldwide are aiming to achieve by the year 2015. Moreover, punishment is against children rights that are well considered in the Convention on the Rights of Children (CRC) which is ratified by government of Sudan.
