AbstractThis paper studies suppression of n-Heptane pool fire with water mist under different longitudinal ventilation velocities in a long and narrow space. Through the suppressing experiments with two different spraying positions and seven ventilation speeds, it is found that the extinguishment of fires has a close relationship with the fuel temperature. Moreover, the fuel temperature, when the fire is extinguished by spraying at different positions, is almost the same within the measurement ranges, and it tends to decrease as the wind speed rises.
