News on Children Related to Education in the Turkish Printed Media

AbstractOne of the significant problems of today's societies is the distresses and problems in the field of education. Development and progress of a country depends on its success in the field of education. Due to the rapid changes in social life and continuous developments in science and technology, education of individuals becomes even more important. At this point, the mission of printed media is to concentrate on the news that inform, educate and guide children.In this study, the contents of the news on children, which was issued in two Turkish newspapers, namely Milliyet and Cumhuriyet, for 45 days (between March 15 and April 30, 2014) will be analyzed. In the same way, by taking the headlines and contents of the news on children related to education into consideration, the factors that are emphasized in the respective news will be examined
