AbstractBackgroundElectronegative low-density lipoprotein (LDL−) promotes atherosclerosis through inflammatory and immunologic mechanisms that lead to the production of anti-LDL(−) autoantibodies and to the subsequent formation of immune complexes (IC) and macrophage foam cells.
