AbstractIn the present study, a series of monochloroacetic acid derivatives were synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectral means. Antimicrobial evaluation was performed against the Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus MTCC 2901, Bacillus subtilis MTCC 2063, Gram-negative bacterium: Escherichia coli MTCC 1652 and the fungal strains: Candida albicans MTCC 227 and Aspergillus niger MTCC 8189 using the tube dilution method.
