AbstractThe Papkovich-Neuber solution of the Stokes' flow equations for a viscous incompressible flow at very low Reynolds numbers is derived using three alternative approaches. In each case the class of solutions which is valid varies depending on the assumptions made on the domain considered. The technique is illustrated by several examples. The solution is identical to that of incompressible linear elasticity upon appropriate modification
