AbstractThe paper addresses an inquiry into Nietzsche's main corpus of works (the Kritische Studienausgabe) with a view to discover the major meanings of the term ‘philosophy’ as appearing throughout his early and his late philosophy. Our study will suggest that in his writings Nietzsche often relates philosophy to ‘artwork,’ while struggling to work out a relation between the philosopher's and the artists’ points of view. The study considers this analogy as relevant to Nietzsche's main attitude towards philosophy in general, starting from his earliest philosophical texts until his descriptions of his own philosophy in his late works
