An Empirical Study of The Linkage Between Resources Development And Economic Development-Taken Shanxi Province as example

AbstractThe study on the relationship between the resources development and the economic development has been a hotly debated topic. The traditional economic theory emphasized the positive role of the abundant natural resources in regional economic development, while resource course theory holds the opposite view. Taking Shanxi province which is abundant of coal resource as an example, this paper analyzes empirically the relationship between the coal resource development and the economic development by using the panel data model. The result shows that there is no significant correlation between the abundance of coal resource and the economic development
