AbstractReducing congestion and improving the financial and environmental sustainability of urban transport represent new challenges for transportation planners. It requires a better understanding of the impact of various pricing policies on travel behavior. Most pricing policies have involved “push” measures. These measures involve extra charges to certain travel options and thus may lead to adaptation of individuals’ behavior. Although push measures have been studied worldwide, examples of actual applications are still limited due to lack of social acceptability and political support.
